How your money is being spent, Carmel City Budget Proposed!

For those who may not be aware the process for presenting the budget and the opportunities for public in person input have been changed this year.

The Mayor has asked for video presentations to be created by each department head to be posted on line and any questions regarding these proposed budgets to be submitted by both councilors and the public via email in advance so responses can be coordinated. This will replace the traditional in person department workshop meetings

There will be a very limited live public meeting scheduled for Monday September 28th from 1:45 - 4:45. This is certainly a difficult time for working people and even stay at home parents to be able to attend as it is in the middle of the workday and during the end of school day pick up times.

I am sending out this message to all of you to give you time to review these budgets and as your representative I want to be able to ask questions on your behalf. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any concerns or specific questions regarding the allocation of your tax dollars.

I do believe that online portals should complement, rather than replace, robust public input options. In-person meetings and time for public testimony remain vital for residents who may lack digital literacy or high-speed internet access.

As always I encourage citizens of Carmel to remain engaged and informed. Please feel free to attend our next Carmel City Council meeting is Monday Seot 21 at 6pm at Carmel City Hall. You are always welcome to make public comments at those meetings or to call or email me with questions or concerns.
